This piece is the first piece in a series of paintings where Helen has recreated her textile collection in a painting. Using a previous original painting 'Salute to a Sunburnt Country' Helen turned the piece into a repeat pattern using elements of the original painting. This pattern was then digitally printed on 100% linen. Helen's sister Catherine, a professional seamstress has then turned the linen into beautiful, bespoke homewares which has in turn inspired this original piece 'Woven'. The piece is a narrative about joining together - woven - entwined - connected. The Wedgewood vase depicted is a gift from Helen's Grandma. This painting is an explosion of love and gratitude, connectedness and belonging.
